Herve Jean –Marie Roger Renard, the
German professional football coach and former player is no longer the coach of
Saudi Arabia following the announcement of his exit earlier today. Herve Renard
is reported to have ended his career at Saudi Arabia after landing green
pastures in his home country, France.
The Saudi Arabian Football Federation
President, Yasser Al-Misehal, affirmed that the Federation agreed to terminate
Herve Renard's contract at his request and wished him every success in his
future career. According to close sources, the German professional coach has
taken over a new managerial role as the French women's team football coach
before this year's Women's World Cup.
"He received
an offer from the French Federation and expressed his desire to take up the
opportunity. We were informed four days before the current international window
and I received a letter from the French federation, and consulted with a number
of members of the board of directors. So, we decided to accept the request."
Yasser Al-Misehal affirmed.
The 54-year-old Frenchman was
appointed by Saudi Arabia in July 2019 and came to the limelight after leading
the country to the unforgotten 2-1 win victory over Argentina at the 2022 FIFA World
Cup That took place in Qatar.
Despite emerging as champions of
the 2022 World Cup, the Argentines still feel embarrassed by the defeat against
Saudi Arabia in their opening match because the country seemed weak and her win
against Argentina was unexpected.
